Melanie Pilot, Registered Counselor Intern, MA

About Me

I obtained a master’s degree in Christian Counseling Psychology from George Fox University in Oregon. I am a licensed counselor intern in the State of Idaho. I worked as a social worker in Child Welfare for 21 years helping families and children work through issues of abuse and neglect to improve their relationships. Prior to that I worked doing couples and individual counseling. Earlier in my career, I also taught elementary school and worked in a group home. I enjoy working with people to find common ground and a healing path.

Therapeutic Approach

I have experience using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Play Therapy, and Solution Focused Therapy. I tend to draw from Positive Psychology and Mindfulness practices. I believe in using therapy to empower individuals to find mental and emotional well-being and increased quality of life. I am a lifelong learner who loves to research the newest trends in mental and emotional well-being and utilize techniques to help strengthen families, couples, and individuals.

Melanie Pilot is AMAZING! I’ve been to so many counselors and I finally found the one. Everything she has taught me is amazing. I feel like such a better person. She’s not like any regular counselor you just go and talk about your problems and put a Band-Aid over it. She actually guides you to try to have a better life. Thank you so much Melanie! You don’t know how much I appreciate you. -M.K.
