Peggy McFarland, Personal Coach

About Me

Hi! I’m Peggy. I’m a wife, a mother, and a grandmother. I understand women’s challenges such as post-trauma issues, chronic negative self-talk, relationship conflict, financial distress, religious perfectionism, faith crisis, and burnout. My husband, Michael, and I have raised a blended family of nine children. I get it! Family life is more challenging than ever in today’s world.

My Experience

I have a master’s degree in mental health counseling from Capella University and a BS in Social Work from BYU-Provo. I am a Certified Professional Life Coach through Light University and a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors and the International Board of Christian Care. I am a retired Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and a university instructor who teaches Parenting 220 to students from all over the world.

My Approach

I made the decision to specialize in a coaching approach because coaching best fits the clients who come to me: amazing, accomplished people who need support to achieve their goals and grow from the adversity in their lives. They don’t need a mental health diagnosis to get support for the “storms” in their lives. When a mental disorder has been diagnosed, coaching is a valuable complement to therapy.

Coaching can help you to

  • Connect to the transforming power of God’s love.
  • Get out of the rut of old thought patterns.
  • Discover the solutions that are awakening inside of you.
  • Build stronger relationships.

I have loved coming to Middleton Counseling. After having a bad experience with my first counselor, coming here was a great relief. They are so kind and friendly and I always feel safe and comfortable talking to them.

Middleton counseling has been very helpful and easy to work with. I had a session of the accelerated resolution therapy had have been pleased with the out come. Highly recommend.

A wonderful experience. I enjoy going there.
