Becky Mumm, LMSW

About Me
Hey. I’m Becky Mumm, LMSW, and I work out of our Rexburg, Idaho location. I met my husband in Idaho while attending college and have been married since 1995. I have two sons and a daughter. I grew up in the Pacific Northwest and have been back in Idaho since 2004. Any time spent with my family is my favorite time of all. Whether it involves sports, the outdoors, cooking, gardening, playing games or just watching Netflix. Self-care has become an important aspect of my life and the most critical aspect of my self-care is humor. I always strive to make time to laugh even when life gets challenging.
Therapeutic Approach
I believe that the most important aspect of therapy is the relationship between the therapist and the client. Because of this, I use trauma-informed strengths-based approaches to help every person find their own path to overcoming challenges by working together to help identify their strengths. By providing a safe place where people can share important parts of their stories, I help my clients progress towards their journey of healing so that they feel empowered.
Every set of circumstances is unique, and participating in counseling can bring peace at the most challenging times in life. While using a person-centered approach, I utilize many therapy techniques including Accelerated Resolution Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Schema Therapy, Somatic Experiencing, and various play therapy techniques such as sand tray, art, and filial therapy.
